Overview

The Sweets department are keen to promote excellent teamwork by employing people who have a positive attitude, who are prepared to learn a number of skills so that they are able to work in various positions within the department. By achieving this, the department is in the best position to produce quality products, in an efficient manner. We aim to not only achieve our targets but improve on them as well.

This position is 40 hours per week, working:

  • Monday to Friday 14:00-22:00

£14.78 per hour + shift allowance + Bonus + Benefits

Who we are

apetito is the UK’s leading food supplier to the health and social care sectors serving more than 1,300 care homes, health care and education settings. Our meals are expertly crafted by our dieticians and chefs, and then frozen to lock in the goodness. Wiltshire Farm Foods, our sister company, is the UK’s largest ready meal supplier cooking and delivering over 330 different delicious frozen ready meals across the UK.

Responsibilities

  • To be a key member of the wash-up team, ensuring that all tote bins, tubs, racks & any other equipment are washed & sanitized correctly and assist in other tasks when required.
  • Staff are employed and trained to be multi-functional and to be capable of carrying out numerous functions should this be required when a fellow staff member is away or absent.

  • To high pressure wash all tote bins, baths, racks & any other items that may require high pressure washing & sanitize.
  • To dismantle all depositors & clean using high pressure wash and inspect, re-assemble and sign off ready for production.
  • To empty scale cupboard of all racking & to clean racks and cupboard regularly.
  • Ensure that all items are cleaned thoroughly & sanitized.
  • Ensure sanitizer is changed every two hours.
  • Ensure items are washed in a priority order.
  • Follow correct personal hygiene procedures (e.g. changing procedure, hand washing procedures).
  • Operate to a clean (and tidy) as you go policy.
  • Carry out efficient and effective clean downs.
  • To support in change overs on the line.
  • Support with break cover when needed.

About you

Essential:

  • Good maths and English skills
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability and willingness to learn a variety of different roles/tasks
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • A good team player
  • Undertake any training made available/organised

Desirable:

  • Hygiene/cleaning experience
  • Food manufacturing experience
  • Food hygiene training

This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the skilled worker route as it does not meet the minimum requirements set out under the UK Immigration Rules.
