Overview

Celanese are recruiting Production Operators to join the Clarifoil manufacturing facility in Spondon (Derby), UK. As a Production Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our production lines operate safely, efficiently, and consistently to deliver the high-quality cellulose acetate films our customers rely on.

The Clarifoil business specialises in the manufacture of sustainable cellulose acetate films used in a wide range of applications including labels, packaging, graphics, decorative laminates and other specialist products. Our Spondon site is our key manufacturing location within the business, producing high-performance film products for customers across the globe.

Working as part of a 24/7 shift team, our Production Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of casting and slitting equipment. Their focus is on safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement, ensuring equipment operates reliably while consistently meeting customer and business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Operating casting and slitting machines safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures and work instructions.
  • Maximise reliability and quality by executing operator care rounds, quality checks and process monitoring activities.
  • Responding to equipment issues through first line fault finding and supporting maintenance and repair activities.
  • Performing reel changes, product changeovers and associated production activities.
  • Working within the shift team to achieve safety, production and quality operational objectives.
  • Completing production documentation, quality records and shift reports accurately.
  • Conducting detailed shift handovers.
  • Operating material handling equipment, including forklift and pallet trucks (training will be provided where required).
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, efficiency and performance.

Qualifications

As a minimum, a good general education: Grades A-C at GCSE level including Maths, English and one other Science/Technical subject.

Experience working in manufacturing, or related industry field operating production machinery, slitting equipment or winding systems would be preferred.

Basic mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills would be beneficial.

Forklift and pallet truck experience would be desirable but is not essential, as training can be provided.
