Production Planner (x10) Location: Aldermaston & Burghfield (100% On-Site)

Contract Duration: 18 Months
Security Clearance: Active DV Clearance Required
Systems: SAP and ERP/MRP II experience essential

Overview

We are seeking experienced Production Planners to support critical manufacturing and operational activities across the Aldermaston and Burghfield sites. The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and maintaining production plans, managing capacity requirements, supporting manufacturing operations, and ensuring customer requirements are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) models.
  • Develop detailed manufacturing plans in response to production requirements, ensuring consideration of time, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Maintain and update planning data within the MRP system, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
  • Plan, release, and monitor work orders to manufacturing and operational teams within required timescales.
  • Produce manufacturing cost estimates and challenge operational timings to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with inventory control processes and procedures.
  • Apply Lean Planning principles and Production Control techniques across manufacturing environments.
  • Utilise tools and methodologies such as:
    • Visual Management
    • Kanban
    • Push/Pull Systems
  • Collaborate with production, manufacturing, operations, and supply chain teams to support delivery requirements.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience in a Production Planner, Manufacturing Planner, Supply Chain Planner or similar planning role.
  • Strong background within manufacturing, production, operations or supply chain environments.
  • Proven experience using SAP and a sound understanding of ERP/MRP II systems.
  • Experience developing production schedules and capacity planning models.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and production control processes.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.

Essential Requirements

  • Active Developed Vetting (DV) Clearance.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site at both Aldermaston and Burghfield locations.
  • Experience working within a highly regulated operational environment.

Desirable

  • Experience within defence, nuclear, aerospace, engineering, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing cost estimation and performance analysis.
  • Experience within complex production planning and scheduling environments.
