Production Planner
We're looking for a Production Planner for a public sector organisation based in Reading on an initial 18-month contract, paying up to £55 per hour (Inside IR35).
This is a fully onsite role, five days a week.
About the Role
The successful Production Planner will balance demand and supply across operational delivery units, translating the Master Production Schedule into detailed daily plans that deliver on time, cost and quality. You'll build and maintain Rough Cut Capacity Planning models, keep the local MRP system accurate, and release customer requirements to manufacturing within the timescales required. You'll also tackle blocks to progress, report on KPIs, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Balance demand and supply across operational delivery units
- Translate the Master Production Schedule into detailed daily plans
- Build and maintain Rough Cut Capacity Planning models
- Keep the local MRP system accurate
- Release customer requirements to manufacturing within required timescales
- Tackle blocks to progress
- Report on KPIs
- Drive continuous improvement
Required Experience
- Proven experience working with Master Production Scheduling and detailed production planning
- MRP system management
- Rough Cut Capacity Planning
- Lean Planning techniques and Production Control processes (Kanban, visual management, Push/Pull)
- Manufacturing cost estimation and challenging operation times
- Stakeholder liaison and coordination across delivery units
