Production Planning Administrator
Temporary
Are you an organised administrator with excellent attention to detail? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where your work directly supports production and business performance? We are looking for a Production Planning Administrator to join a busy Planning team, playing a key role in ensuring production documentation, work orders and planning information are accurate, compliant and delivered on time. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administration skills who enjoys working with data, communicating across departments and contributing to the smooth running of manufacturing operations.
The Role
Working as part of the Planning team, you will support the end-to-end production planning process by ensuring all planning documentation is accurate, up to date and issued within required timescales. You will liaise with Production, Supply Chain and other key departments, helping to keep operations running efficiently while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise, distribute, amend and cancel production work orders, ensuring all documentation is accurate and completed "right first time".
- Generate and maintain regular production holding lists and stock reports.
- Communicate planning updates and outstanding component issues to relevant departments.
- Attend daily operational meetings, providing planning updates and highlighting potential production risks.
- Process new and revised work orders, ensuring production documentation remains compliant and current.
- Update and distribute departmental instructions and process documentation.
- Provide cover for the Production Scheduler during holidays and periods of absence.
- Support production scheduling activities, including raising batch numbers and managing planning boards.
- Work closely with Production, Supply Chain and Operational teams to support delivery of the production plan.
- Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Assist with additional planning and administration duties as required.
We're keen to hear from candidates who are:
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with data and producing accurate reports.
- Strong communicators who enjoy working with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, self-motivated and keen to take ownership of their work.
- Collaborative team players with a positive, customer-focused attitude.
- Interested in continuous improvement and developing their career.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
