Production Planning Coordinator
Reports to: Planning & Capacity Manager

As the Planning Coordinator you will play a pivotal role in supporting Armstrong’s manufacturing and project delivery operations for the manufacture and assembly of Packaged Plant Rooms (PPR) and will be required to liaise across multiple functions including Operations, Quality, Purchasing & Engineering. You will be responsible for ensuring data integrity across ERP and workforce systems, coordinating production schedules, monitoring resources and materials, and facilitating communication across teams. This role demands accuracy, strong organisational skills, and the ability to adapt to changing production needs, all while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Key Accountabilities:
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Coordinate and maintain production schedules to meet delivery targets and customer requirements.
- Monitor project and works order progress, assisting with close-out for both factory and site-based projects.
- Reduce bottlenecks by balancing workload and capacity across teams.

Data & Systems Management
- Validate Full Time Employee (FTE) and contractor bookings via ERP (LN).
- Report, monitor, and correct data in LN, Factory Track, and Tensor if required.
Inventory & Materials Control
- Monitor stock levels of raw materials, packaging, and consumables, creating picklists for the warehouse in line with build schedule.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain to align material availability with production requirements.
- Manage & resolve shortages for projects on the shop floor.
- Create & issue reports to shop floor supervisors on material availability, labour bookings on their projects etc.
Communication & Coordination
- Facilitate communication between production, procurement, planning, finance, HR, and quality assurance teams.
- Act as a point of contact for resolving operational issues during production.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate production/operational records.
- Prepare reports and dashboards for management visibility on production efficiency, workforce utilisation, and progress versus budget.
- Develop and update SOPs, work instructions, and documentation to standardise processes.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Assist with quality checks to ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements.
- Ensure production activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and support opportunities for process optimisation in planning, scheduling, and data management.
- Propose corrective actions and support implementation to improve efficiency and accuracy.
What We’re Looking For
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Significant experience in a production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination role.
- Knowledge of production planning and scheduling principles and best practices.
- High level of numeracy and accuracy in data entry, analysis, and reporting.
- Proven ability in data analysis, problem-solving, and operational issue resolution.
- Experience maintaining operational records, reports, and planning-related documentation.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Soft Skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

Technical Skills
- Strong systems knowledge within ERP systems (preferably LN) and related operational platforms.
- Experience using workforce management, production tracking, and reporting systems (e.g., Factory Track, Tensor, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for reporting, analysis, and planning activities.
- Ability to interpret production schedules, resource plans, and material requirements.
- Experience producing management reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Understanding of inventory control and materials planning processes.
