About You
The Production Process Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing within the production department is optimised for efficiency, consistency, and quality. The role is to ensure that all production activities follow approved procedures, documentation is maintained, and improvement opportunities are identified and implemented.
This position plays a key role in maintaining operational control, supporting process improvements, and ensuring production teams are properly resourced and guided to achieve business objectives.
Daily management of staff, to set jobs and expected performance levels, leading the shop floor and ensuring production schedules are met. Daily reporting on the Production status will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Process Control and Optimisation
- Oversee day-to-day manufacturing processes to ensure they are carried out efficiently and in accordance with documented procedures.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement to optimise production flow, resource use, and quality outcomes.
- Drive data-based decision-making using shop floor data collection and analysis (e.g., CIM ERP system).

Documentation and Compliance
- Ensure all work instructions, build documents, and process controls are current and complete.
- Maintain visibility of controlled documents and ensure production technicians are using the latest versions.
- Investigate any deviations from process and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Maintain accurate results and records as required.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Represent production in NPI (New Product Introduction) activities to ensure smooth transition of new products into manufacturing.
- Work closely with the Quality team to review process performance, identify nonconformities, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in ECN (Engineering Change Notice) meetings and ensure all relevant production changes are communicated and implemented.
Workflow and Resource Management
- Define and maintain clear workflows on the production floor, including kitting quantities, workstation allocation, and process sequencing.
- Ensure all production technicians have the tools, materials, and information required to complete tasks efficiently.
- Support the development of resource plans to meet build schedules and operational targets.
- Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards to ensure an organised, clean & safe working environment for all employees.
- Undertake / Supervise - Assembly, Test, Calibration and Rework activity as required
Quality and Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to identify and resolve production-related issues and defects.
- QA for all Production bugs.
- Lead or support process audits and improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Promote continuous improvement and lean practices within the production area.
- Comply with all health and safety requirements as stipulated within standard operating procedures & company procedures.
- Basic understanding of 5/6S.

Communication and Reporting
- Provide regular updates to Production Management on performance, risks, and improvement activities.
- Ensure clear communication between production teams and cross-functional departments to maintain alignment and efficiency.
- Maintain KPI’s and throughput metrics to guide decisions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of production workflows, process control, and quality management.
- Experience using production systems such as CIM and MRP/ERP.
- Strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and health and safety standards.
Interfaces
- Internal: Production Technicians, Production Engineering, Quality, NPI, Stores, and Operations.
- External: May liaise with suppliers or service providers as required.
