Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of production and sequencing leadership experience, with:
  • Hands-on expertise in high-throughput sequencing workflows end-to-end (prep, automation, sequencing).
  • Smooth management of small to medium teams to deliver scientific throughput goals under pressure.
• Proven expertise across short-read (Illumina, Ultima) and long-read platforms (PacBio, Nanopore).
  • Deep knowledge of library preparation validation and execution.
• Strong track record applying Lean/Six Sigma methodologies specifically in lab production environments (SOP refinement, waste elimination, and process mapping).
• Experience developing, scaling, and maintaining automated workflows (liquid handling, genetic preparation tools).
• Leadership of cross-functional teams, aligning staff across biotech processes, bioinformatics, and data teams.
• Expertise with LIMS platforms (Benchling or equivalent) to monitor sample workflow and inventory.
• Technical and process expertise in standard operational procedures (SOP) for transitions between R&D to production.
• Comfort collaborating across interdisciplinary teams (laboratory scientists, data, operations, machines – to fulfil production targets).
