Production Shift Manager - Greenwich
£68,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Excellent Benefits | Permanent
We're looking for an experienced Production Shift Manager to lead a key Plant Production area within a complex manufacturing environment.
You'll lead Production Team Leaders and Technicians across a rotating shift pattern, setting clear standards, driving accountability and building a high-performance, safety-first culture.
This is much more than technical production oversight — we're looking for a strong people leader who is confident managing teams and handling complex employee relations matters.
The Role
As Production Shift Manager, you'll:
- Lead and manage Production Team Leaders and Technicians across rotating shifts.
- Take ownership of safe, compliant and high-quality production output.
- Drive shift performance against key KPIs, including output, efficiency and schedule adherence.
- Manage employee performance, development, absence, investigations and disciplinary processes.
- Act as the primary Production lead on shift, coordinating the resolution of operational issues across multiple functions.
- Oversee production planning, shift loading and skills allocation.
- Lead investigations and corrective actions relating to safety, quality and operational performance.
- Promote and embed Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives, including 6S, RCA and 5 Whys.
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, HR and Supply Chain to maintain effective production operations.

You'll have:
- Proven experience managing people within a manufacturing or industrial production environment.
- Strong experience handling employee relations, including disciplinary processes, investigations, absence and performance management.
- A track record of leading shift-based production teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Quality requirements within manufacturing.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies, such as 6S, RCA and 5 Whys.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, HR and other support functions.
- The confidence and leadership style to set standards, hold people accountable and build a positive, high-performance team culture.

Shift Pattern
This is a rotating 4-day shift pattern, Friday to Monday, 37.5 hours per week, covering both day and night shifts.
