We are seeking an expert Production Supervisor to join our Thetford Plant within our operational team to provide leadership, being responsible for the manufacturing, filling and packaging of our products. You will need to have a background of working in a highly regulated industry, be a result-driven, hands-on manager with a proactive nature and several years of experience leading, supervising and developing operational teams.

This role is rotating shifts, Monday-Sunday between 06:00-18:00/18:00-06:00 which is 42 hours per week. This could look like 3 days on, 4 off, 2 nights on, 3 off etc. We offer a competitive salary AND a weekly shift allowance.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all activities are carried out to appropriate GMP and EHS standards and Legislation.
  • Promote a positive safety and quality culture in the company and coach employees on EHS and quality practices.
  • Ensure all areas of responsibility are GMP compliant, housekeeping standards are always maintained.
  • Ensure that all products are produced to the required specification.
  • Overall responsibility for Shift performance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Complete accurate shift report and identify actions relating to performance.
  • Co-ordination of training across the department, maintaining accurate records on the department training matrix.
  • Manage the shift to include recruitment, training and development, and succession planning.
  • Absence and performance management across the team.
  • Co-ordinate support for breakdowns etc.
  • Meet daily output targets, identify, and drive production efficiencies across all production lines using.
  • Adhere to annual budgets, identifying and instigating cost improvement projects where appropriate.
  • Other duties as required and directed by the Production Manager.

Relevant experience:

  • Experienced production supervisor within a highly regulated environment.
  • Highly effective people management skills - experience of leading staff at all levels along with cross functional teams.
  • Experience of structured problem-solving tools and lean six-sigma methods.
  • Experience in implementing lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Strong computer literacy & proficient in the use of MS Office tools.
  • Experience of working shift- nights and weekends.

  • Must be a natural teammate, able to develop strong working relationships with the rest of the management team.
  • Understand how the Production function adds customer value to a business and supports the achievement of the site’s goals.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and train supervisors, line leaders and general operators.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with site management, production, engineering and quality personnel.
  • Ability to plan workloads & work to tight timelines.
