Production Sound Recordist — Client Project
Aru Labs | Project-based opportunity
Aru Labs is looking for a Production Sound Recordist / Location Sound Mixer for an upcoming independent web-series project being produced for a client.
This is a project-based opportunity, not a permanent position at Aru Labs.
The series is a character-driven story exploring startups, ambition, relationships, friendship, money, and life.
We're looking for someone who can capture clean, natural, and cinematic production sound across different locations and shooting environments.
What you'll do
- Record production dialogue during filming
- Set up and operate professional location sound equipment
- Select and position microphones based on each scene
- Work closely with the Director and DOP
- Monitor dialogue and ambient sound throughout each take
- Maintain clean audio levels and recordings
- Manage wireless microphones and boom recording
- Record useful room tone and location ambience
- Identify and communicate sound issues before or during takes
- Maintain organized audio files and backups
- Coordinate with the post-production sound team when required

What we're looking for
- Previous experience as a production sound recordist, location sound mixer, or boom operator
- Strong understanding of dialogue recording
- Experience with boom microphones and wireless lavalier systems
- Comfortable recording in both controlled interiors and unpredictable outdoor environments
- Good knowledge of professional sound equipment
- Strong attention to detail
- Calm and collaborative approach on set
- Experience in films, web series, short films, commercials, music videos, or documentary production is welcome.
Working arrangement
- Remote: Pre-production / planning
- Travel: Required during production
- Engagement: Project-based / contract
- Production window: Late November – early December
- Potential locations: San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, London, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bali, and other global creative and startup hubs
- International and India-based candidates are welcome.
