As Production & Stores Supervisor
As Production & Stores Supervisor, you'll be responsible for coordinating day-to-day manufacturing and stores activities, ensuring operational targets are achieved whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and customer satisfaction. You'll play a key role in developing team capability, creating efficient workflows and driving continuous improvement across production and stores operations. Working closely with colleagues across Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain, you'll help ensure products move smoothly from materials through to finished goods. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend time supporting your team on the shop floor, solving problems, improving processes and creating a culture where people can perform at their best.
What you'll be doing
Leading Safe and Effective Operations
- Creating and maintaining a safe, compliant and positive working environment.
- Ensuring all production and stores activities are carried out in line with health, safety and environmental standards.
- Conducting safety inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Investigating incidents and near misses, implementing effective corrective actions.
- Promoting a proactive safety culture where everyone takes ownership of safe working practices.
Driving Production & Stores Performance
- Supervising daily production, stores and picking activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery and productivity targets.
- Monitoring operational performance and taking action to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Coordinating labour and resources to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
- Ensuring customer requirements and production schedules are consistently achieved.
- Escalating operational challenges appropriately and supporting rapid resolution.

Championing Quality
- Ensuring products are manufactured and delivered to the required standards and specifications.
- Supporting investigations into quality issues, defects and non-conformances.
- Driving a "right first time" approach throughout the team.
- Ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and quality controls.
- Leading root cause analysis and supporting effective corrective actions.
Improving Processes
- Monitoring key performance indicators and identifying opportunities to improve performance.
- Applying Lean principles such as 5S, visual management and waste reduction to improve efficiency and flow.
- Supporting the introduction of new products and engineering changes into production.
- Working collaboratively with Engineering and Quality teams to implement and sustain improvements.
- Ensuring equipment, tooling and test systems remain fit for purpose and safely utilised.
Developing People
- Leading, coaching and motivating production and stores team members.
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing development activities.
- Conducting regular team briefings, performance conversations and reviews.
- Managing attendance, employee relations and performance matters in line with company policies.
- Building a culture of accountability, teamwork, respect and continuous learning.

What you'll bring
- Experience leading, coaching and developing teams within a manufacturing, production, warehouse or operational environment.
- A strong understanding of production processes, workflow management and operational performance.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, visual management and continuous improvement techniques.
- Experience using operational data and KPIs to drive performance improvements.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive and organised approach with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service.
- The ability to build positive relationships and bring people together to achieve shared goals.
