The Company

A well-established manufacturing business specialising in high-quality engineered products is seeking to recruit a Production Supervisor to join its growing team.

Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in leading production operations, ensuring customer orders are delivered on time, and driving quality, safety, and continuous improvement across your area.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have previous experience leading a production or manufacturing team and be confident managing people, production planning, and shop floor performance.

You should have:

  • Previous supervisory experience leading a team of 10+ people
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Good organisational and planning ability
  • Experience working to production schedules and KPIs
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
  • The ability to motivate, coach, and develop production teams
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and email
  • A flexible approach with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

The Role

  • Lead, motivate, and support a production team to achieve daily production targets
  • Plan and organise shop floor production to meet customer delivery schedules
  • Allocate workloads and manage workflow across the department
  • Ensure production is carried out safely while maintaining high quality standards
  • Promote and maintain 5S and safe working practices throughout the production area
  • Monitor productivity and performance against company KPIs
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase efficiency
  • Ensure production staff are working to the latest SOPs, engineering drawings, ECNs, CCNs, and Quality Alerts
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members to improve flexibility across the production department
  • Manage holidays, overtime, attendance, and timekeeping
  • Support the onboarding and training of new employees
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Stores, and Production Control teams to ensure production objectives are achieved
  • Liaise with the Production Manager regarding staffing, production issues, and operational improvements
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing
  • Carry out any other duties required to support the manufacturing operation
