Production Supervisor

We are looking for a Production Supervisor to lead a high-performing production team, drive operational excellence, and play a key role in delivering world-class products.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of your production area, and contribute to the achievement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives. You will supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training and development opportunities. By demonstrating strong people management skills you will have full accountability for your area, lead by example and make your teams accountable to achieve targets set by the business KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop production teams, creating a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and ensuring that all employees adhere to safety protocols.
  • Ensure that products meet quality standards by implementing and maintaining quality assurance protocols throughout the production process.
  • Analyse production workflows and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, including key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the training and development of employees, supporting both individual and team growth.
  • Set and manage production budgets and make your teams accountable for their performance.
  • Support and mentor apprentices, helping to develop the next generation of manufacturing talent.

Essential

What We're Looking For:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within a heavy manufacturing, engineering, or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and machinery.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Familiarity with production management software and tools for scheduling, reporting, and inventory control.

Desirable

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Steam Turbine products and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of business, financial, and operational management principles.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven approach with a focus on achieving performance targets.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent IT skills

Working Pattern

We operate across a number of shift rotations, therefore flexibility in working hours is essential. Occasional weekend working is required and shared on a rotational basis within the supervisory team.

This work is undertaken with UK Defence customers which will require any individual applying for the role to hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance as a UK Passport Holder. Applicants not cleared will not be accepted into the business until this clearance is provided. Dual passport holders are acceptable if the second country is approved by the vetting authority
