Production Supervisor - Backshift

Fresh Business Unit | Airdrie

Salary: £13.96 per hour + £0.50 per hour backshift allowance

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Sunday 09:00-17:00, Monday-Thursday 17:00-01:00

Weekend Requirement: 1 in 3 Saturdays

We are currently looking for a motivated and hands-on Production Supervisor to join our Fresh Business Unit on a permanent backshift basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supervisor or team leader looking to take the next step in their career within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a production team to ensure daily targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with Production Managers and other departments, you will drive performance, support employee development, and ensure all processes are carried out in line with food safety, quality, and health & safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of production operatives
  • Ensure production plans and targets are achieved
  • Monitor staffing levels and allocate resources effectively
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, quality, and GMP
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the shift
  • Conduct team briefings and performance discussions
  • Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, QA, Warehouse, and Planning teams
  • Monitor KPIs and take corrective action where required
  • Support training and onboarding of new team members

Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, production, or a similar fast-paced environment
  • Current Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence
  • Strong people management and communication skills
  • Ability to lead by example and drive team performance
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Knowledge of food safety and health & safety standards
  • Comfortable working in a target-driven environment
  • Flexible approach with the ability to adapt to changing business needs
