Senior Equities Production Support Engineer | Elite Systematic Hedge Fund | London
Our client is a globally renowned systematic hedge fund where technology is central to investment performance. They are seeking a Senior Equities Production Support Engineer to join a highly visible front-office technology team, supporting some of the firm's most critical trading and research platforms. This is an opportunity to work directly with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Quantitative Researchers in a business where engineering excellence is viewed as a true competitive advantage.
The successful Senior Equities Production Support Engineer will sit at the heart of the equities business, taking ownership of high-impact production systems that support the full trading lifecycle. This is far more than a traditional support role. As a Production Support Engineer, you'll drive platform improvements, automation initiatives, and strategic enhancements while acting as a trusted technology partner to the trading desk. The position offers exceptional visibility, significant ownership, and top-of-market compensation within one of the most sophisticated trading environments in the industry. Strong equities trading experience is essential, as you'll be directly supporting front-office users and business-critical trading workflows.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with Equity PMs, Traders, and Analysts to support trading, PnL, risk, reporting, and research platforms
- Own the stability, performance, and reliability of front-to-back equities trading systems
- Lead investigation and resolution of complex production incidents, driving root cause analysis and long-term fixes
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement across the production support function
- Build tooling and enhancements using Python, PowerShell, and SQL
- Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity to proactively reduce operational risk
- Collaborate with global engineering teams and external vendors on strategic platform initiatives
- Improve operational efficiency through automation, AI, and workflow optimisation
- Maintain documentation across trade flows, production processes, and critical systems
- Participate in on-call and cross-regional support rotations

Key Skills Required
- 5+ years' experience as a Production Support Engineer supporting equity trading environments
- Strong equities product knowledge and deep understanding of the equity trading lifecycle
- Proven front-office production support experience within a hedge fund, market maker, investment bank, or trading technology firm
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities across complex trading environments
- Python or PowerShell scripting experience, alongside strong SQL skills
- Experience supporting OMS/EMS platforms such as FlexTrade, Triton, or SpiderRock
- Exposure to Linux, Windows, AWS, and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of FIX connectivity, market data, messaging systems, and trade flows
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Geneos or Zabbix
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate effectively in high-pressure trading environments
