At SYOS, we’re building the next generation of autonomous vehicles across air, land and sea.

Our UK maritime team is growing, and we’re looking for a Mechanical Production Team Lead to lead the mechanical assembly and integration of our autonomous maritime vessels from our Fareham facility.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage a team of mechanical technicians and fitters, ensuring production is delivered safely, efficiently, to specification and on schedule. You’ll also play a key role in driving Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement as we scale our production capability.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, coordinate and support a team of mechanical technicians and fitters.
  • Allocate work, monitor progress and ensure production schedules are achieved.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the production team.
  • Oversee mechanical assembly and integration of hulls, propulsion systems and associated components.
  • Ensure work meets engineering drawings, specifications, quality requirements and maritime standards.
  • Coordinate with Electrical, Software, Engineering and Quality teams during system integration.
  • Implement effective quality control and inspection processes.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical issues during assembly and integration.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Identify and eliminate production waste, improve workflows and increase efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain standard work procedures and process documentation.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
