Production Team Leader – QC Test Team, Cameras Production

At Oxford Instruments Andor, we are dedicated to accelerating groundbreaking scientific advancements. Our mission is to develop impactful products that enhance research. We empower scientists and engineers to image, analyse, and manipulate materials at atomic and molecular levels to drive advancements in fields such as cancer research, space exploration, and clean energy.

We are seeking a Production Team Leader for our QC Test Team in Cameras Production. In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Supervise, manage, and motivate the Production Team on a daily basis
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all team members, providing guidance, training, and leadership
  • Foster a can-do attitude to inspire and drive collective goals
  • Delegate tasks, oversee operations and performance metrics, and provide constructive feedback
  • Liaise regularly with engineering, production administration, and other internal teams regarding updates, inspections, and production progress
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to enhance efficiency, operational flow, and revenue-generating outcomes

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage production floors, metrology quality control (QC) operations, and team dynamics effectively
  • Enhance internal processes and contribute to growing the team to meet customer demands
  • Provide ongoing support and technical training to team members
  • Report quality and performance metrics to leadership
  • Maintain regulatory, operational, and customer requirements compliance

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • A HNC/HND or equivalent qualification with 3 years of relevant production experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment, OR

  • An ONC/OND or equivalent qualification with 5 years of relevant experience in high-tech production

  • Proven experience in supporting, training, and supervising technical staff

  • Strong background in manufacturing environments, with an understanding of quality control processes

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) to manage data, reports, and performance tracking

Location & Employment Details

The Permanent & Full-Time role is based in our Belfast headquarters, Ireland.
