Join us as a Production Team Leader at our Denton site in North Manchester

Wienerberger Ltd manufactures and provides wall, roof and landscaping products for the construction sector. We offer innovative and sustainable solutions across the whole building envelope for new build, renovation projects and across the building industry.

About the Role

As Production Team Leader, you will lead and motivate a small team through a practical and hands on approach.

Duties include:

  • Setting priorities to maximise production efficiency and promote working practices that develops a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork and open communication
  • Identify and suggest improvements to the manufacturing and quality process to ensure agreed cost efficient production schedules
  • Assist with the installation of new plant equipment
  • Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve efficiencies
  • Carry out factory inspections, giving advice and support to production operatives and other personnel
  • Monitoring quality from raw material to finished goods
  • Ensure all new starters are efficiently inducted and trained

This site produces bricks, supporting our manufacturing of high-quality building materials across the UK.

This position is based at our Denton site, which is near to Hyde, Audenshaw, Bredbury and Openshaw, easily commutable from Oldham, Stockport, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Mottram in Longendale, and Greater Manchester.

Hours of Work:

  • Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday, 6.00am – 6.30pm
  • Week 2: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, 6.00pm – 6.30am on a 7 on, 7 off shift pattern

About You

Essential

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a safety-first culture is essential
  • At least a year’s leadership experience in a Team Leader / Supervisor role or similar
  • Experience of working in a high production environment, primarily in the automotive, food or FMCG related industries
  • Good exposure to health & safety standards, continuous improvement methods and environmental best practice
  • IT skills – working knowledge of MS Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Strong organisational & planning abilities
  • Mechanical maintenance qualifications are desirable

  • Basic rate: £13.25 - £16.23 per hour (based on experience)
  • Additional annual allowances: £7,500
