Overview
The Production Technician plays a key role in delivering high-quality technical production and event support across the London Borough of Harrow's Cultural Service. Working across a diverse programme of cultural activities, the postholder will be responsible for providing professional production services for a wide range of events, including outdoor events, festivals, performances, community activities, and events commissioned by external clients.
The role involves planning, coordinating, and delivering technical production requirements to ensure events are executed safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard. The Production Technician will work closely with artists, performers, hirers, contractors, and colleagues to provide expert technical support, helping to create engaging and successful experiences for audiences and participants.

As a customer-focused professional, the postholder will deliver excellent service to venue hirers, performers, and stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact for technical event delivery. They will ensure that production equipment and systems are operated and maintained effectively, support the smooth running of events from set-up to de-rig, and contribute to the continued success and reputation of Harrow's cultural programme through the delivery of exceptional production values.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- A motivated and enthusiastic self-starter with excellent communication skills, who is able to work with a wide range of visiting professionals.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience of technical production theatre and technical production skills including stage management, lighting, and sound.
- Ability to work to licensing, accessibility, and health and safety procedures and legislation of performances and functions.
- Demonstrate an awareness of the importance of customer care, being responsive and considerate of customer needs and dealing effectively with a wide range of clients, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Interest in the arts.
