Gecko Glazing provides innovative, eco-friendly secondary glazing solutions that significantly improve window performance and energy efficiency. The company specializes in bespoke panes for wooden sash windows that can be installed in minutes, cutting heat loss and emissions by up to 50% and delivering long-term cost savings. Its products are designed to enhance Energy Performance Certificates, reduce noise and condensation, and preserve the appearance of heritage windows. With panes that are up to 80% less costly than standard double glazing and require no planning permission, Gecko Glazing offers a practical, sustainable option for improving comfort and reducing environmental impact.

Role Description

The Production Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Edinburgh. The Production Technician will support the manufacturing of secondary glazing panes, including operating machinery, assembling components, and following production schedules to meet quality and output targets.

  • Monitoring production processes
  • Performing routine equipment checks
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area
  • Assisting with inventory of materials and finished products
  • Working closely with team members to identify and resolve issues on the production line
  • Following standard operating procedures
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Completing production records accurately
  • Adhering to health, safety, and environmental guidelines

Qualifications

  • Strong focus on Quality Control and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
  • Ability to perform Troubleshooting and basic Preventive Maintenance on production equipment.
  • Effective Communication skills for working with supervisors, colleagues, and other departments.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with tools, machinery, and technical instructions.
  • Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety practices, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, glazing, or a similar technical role is beneficial.
  • Secondary education or vocational training in a relevant field (e.g., manufacturing, engineering, construction) is an advantage.
