About our company

Purpose of the role

The Production Technician is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient and reliable operation of production equipment. The role will provide technical support to production operators, carry out machine changeovers, troubleshoot and repair equipment, complete quality checks and identify opportunities to improve machine up-time, productivity and overall production efficiency.

The Production Technician will work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure machines are available and capable of meeting production requirements.

The day to day

  • To adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements
  • Work to meet CoPQ targets by resolving knitting issues that arise during production, using a methodical problem-solving approach to ensure the root cause is found which should then reduce waste
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs where appropriate to minimise production downtime.
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and escalate where additional engineering support is required.
  • Provide technical support to operators when quality issues arise.
  • Carry out quality checks and fit trials to confirm products meet the required specification.
  • Maximise machine uptime and utilisation across the shift.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, waste and inefficiencies.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the production area.
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.

What We’re Looking For

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Interest or experience in textiles, knitting, manufacturing, or product development
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment

Other Considerations

Essential:

  • Knowledge of Stoll CMS / HP knitting machines
  • Knowledge of Knitting machines / production
  • Background in weft knitting
  • Knowledge of Shima knitting machines could be considered for re-training
