About Us
AVK Corby is part of the AVK Group, who are market leaders in the design, manufacture and supply of valves, pipe fittings, hydrants and flow control equipment to the Water, Wastewater, Oil and Gas industries throughout the world. AVK Corby is the renowned innovative manufacturer of BS 750 Fire hydrants and resilient seated gate valves for the UK, since 1979. Finished products are stocked at our National Distribution Centre giving the advantage of next day delivery and emergency delivery if required.
We have a vacancy for a Production Technician to support the operation and continuous improvement of our semi-automated production line in Corby. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an engineering background who enjoys problem-solving, working with advanced manufacturing equipment, and contributing to operational excellence.
About The Role
As a Production Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient running of production processes while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance.

Other Responsibilities
- Operate and support semi-automated production equipment in line with company procedures and standards.
- Assist with the transition from manual to semi-automated manufacturing processes.
- Carry out production line changeovers and equipment set-up as required.
- Troubleshoot equipment faults and contribute to effective problem-solving activities.
- Learn and operate a variety of production equipment and assembly techniques.
About You
- Hardworking, reliable, and conscientious.
- Proactive with a positive attitude towards continuous improvement.
Essential
- Level 2 Engineering qualification (or equivalent).
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience working with automated or semi-automated production equipment.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.

Working Hours
- Hours of work are 37.5 hours per week.
08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday
08:00 – 14:00 Friday
