Production Technician

A Squared Technologies

If you enjoy varied, hands-on technical work — moving between SMT machine operation, hand soldering, loom assembly, and full box builds — this could be the role for you. A Squared is a well-established, family-run business with a reputation for reliability and long-standing customer relationships, and as demand grows we're expanding our production team.

This role suits someone with practical knowledge of surface mount technology (SMT) machines, such as Pick and Place systems, who's comfortable working with small, fine-pitch components. Whether you're already experienced across the full range of tasks below, or strong in one area and keen to develop the rest, we'd like to hear from you — we're happy to support the right person in building out their skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain SMT machines (Pick and Place) for efficient, accurate PCB assembly, including small and fine-pitch components
  • Perform hand soldering and assembly of through-hole and surface mount components (PCBA)
  • Build wiring looms and harnesses to specification
  • Carry out full box builds, from sub-assembly through to finished unit
  • Work to IPC standards and internal procedures to ensure consistently reliable results
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and output
  • Maintain accurate production records and follow established workflows
  • Collaborate closely within a small, focused team where you'll know everyone by name

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
