About the Role
We are looking for a Production Tester to join our production facility in Melsonby, North Yorkshire. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will ensure all electro-mechanical products meet quality, functional, and performance standards before dispatch.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Visual and functional testing of products
- Fault diagnosis
- Maintaining accurate quality records
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct visual and functional testing of products following approved procedures and specifications
- Verify product compliance with customer requirements, engineering drawings, and quality standards
- Perform electrical, mechanical, and functional testing of products and sub-assemblies
- Record test results and maintain traceable quality documentation
- Identify process improvements and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action activities
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve issues
- Mentor trainee production technicians where needed

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Experience in production testing, quality inspection, or manufacturing environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical assembly processes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Effective fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to complete documentation accurately and efficiently
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications

Desirable:
- Experience in testing electro-mechanical products
- Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards)
- Understanding of root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies
- Experience using electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters, insulation testers)
- Familiarity with continuous improvement and 5S principles
