# Production Tester – SWARCO UK & Ireland

About the Role

We are looking for a Production Tester to join our production facility in Melsonby, North Yorkshire. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will ensure all electro-mechanical products meet quality, functional, and performance standards before dispatch.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Visual and functional testing of products
  • Fault diagnosis
  • Maintaining accurate quality records

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual and functional testing of products following approved procedures and specifications
  • Verify product compliance with customer requirements, engineering drawings, and quality standards
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and functional testing of products and sub-assemblies
  • Record test results and maintain traceable quality documentation
  • Identify process improvements and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action activities
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve issues
  • Mentor trainee production technicians where needed

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in production testing, quality inspection, or manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical assembly processes
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Effective fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to complete documentation accurately and efficiently
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications

Desirable:

  • Experience in testing electro-mechanical products
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards)
  • Understanding of root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies
  • Experience using electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters, insulation testers)
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement and 5S principles
