Challenge
What You Will Do
We have a vacancy for a Production Tester to join our growing team in SWARCO’s impressive production facility in Melsonby, North Yorkshire. Reporting to the Production Manager the Production Tester is responsible for ensuring that all electro-mechanical products meet the required quality, functional, and performance standards prior to dispatch. The role involves conducting visual inspections, functional testing, fault diagnosis, and maintaining accurate quality records in accordance with company procedures.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Carry out visual and functional testing of electro-mechanical products in accordance with approved test procedures and specifications.
- Verify product compliance with customer requirements, engineering drawings, and quality standards.
- Perform functional, electrical, and mechanical testing of products and sub-assemblies.
- Record test results and maintain traceable quality records.
- Identify opportunities to improve quality control processes and testing efficiency as well as participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve issues.
- Support and mentor trainee production technicians where required.

Profile
Essential
- Experience in production testing, quality inspection, or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Good understanding of electrical and mechanical assembly processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Effective fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to complete documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications

Desirable
- Experience testing electro-mechanical products.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection techniques.
- Understanding of root cause analysis methodologies.
- Experience using electrical test equipment such as multimeters and insulation testers.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and 5S principles
