1. Overview
We are seeking experienced Professional Design Experts to contribute to a research project focused on helping advanced AI systems better understand professional design judgment, visual quality, and product presentation.
In this role, you will apply your professional experience and visual judgment to evaluate design-related work, make informed decisions about presentation and aesthetics, and help identify what makes a product or visual artifact effective, polished, and professionally appropriate.
Candidates should have strong visual judgment, professional experience creating or evaluating design materials, and the ability to assess quality across different formats and contexts.
Note: Candidates must have native or near-native proficiency in English.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate visual and product-design materials based on professional standards and aesthetic quality.
- Apply strong judgment when assessing visual presentation, layout, composition, usability, and overall design taste.
- Review graphics, documents, presentations, digital interfaces, and other professional design artifacts.
- Make informed decisions about design preferences and communicate the reasoning behind those decisions.
- Identify strengths, weaknesses, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement in visual work.
- Apply professional design principles consistently across different tasks and formats.
- Work with common productivity and design tools to review, compare, and assess materials.
- Provide clear and structured feedback based on professional experience and visual judgment.

3. Ideal Qualifications
- Professional experience in a role requiring a strong sense of visual quality, design judgment, and presentation.
- Experience creating graphics, presentations, documents, layouts, or other visual materials for professional purposes.
- Familiarity with professional design tools such as:
- Figma
- Sketch
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Other comparable design and creative software
- Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, composition, typography, spacing, and presentation quality.
- Ability to distinguish polished, professional design from work that requires refinement.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to make consistent, well-reasoned design decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Native or near-native proficiency in English.

4. Technical Requirements
Candidates should be comfortable working with:
- Google Slides
- Google Sheets
- Google Docs
- PDF documents
- Common design and productivity platforms
5. Role Details
Role: Professional Design Expert
Work Arrangement: Fully Remote
Eligible Locations: United States, United Kingdom, or Canada
Commitment: Minimum 15 hours per week
Engagement Type: Independent Contractor
Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on project requirements and performance.
6. Contract and Payment Terms
- You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
- This is a fully remote opportunity that can be completed according to the agreed schedule.
- Payments are made weekly based on services rendered through available payment platforms.
- Your work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, or institution.
- H-1B and STEM OPT candidates are not currently supported.
