About the Role
The Pharmacists’ Defence Association (PDA) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting pharmacists throughout their professional careers. With over 40,000 members across the UK, we provide professional support, education, representation and guidance to pharmacists working in every sector of practice.
As the profession evolves, pharmacists need support that extends beyond their initial education and training. We are committed to helping pharmacists develop the confidence, judgement and professional skills required to thrive throughout their careers.
We are seeking a Professional Development Support Pharmacist to join our Professional Development directorate. This exciting new role will help deliver educational programmes, build relationships with pharmacy schools and training providers, support students, trainees and early career pharmacists, and contribute to the development of resources, networks and initiatives that strengthen the profession.

In this role, you will
- Support the design, development and delivery of educational programmes for students, trainees and early career pharmacists.
- Build relationships with universities, pharmacy schools and training providers to help strengthen professional development opportunities.
- Support engagement activities, representative networks, ambassador programmes and initiatives that help students and trainees transition successfully into professional practice.
- Deliver workshops, learning sessions and practical development activities across a range of settings.
- Contribute to PDA publications, educational resources, digital content and professional development materials.
- Gather feedback and insight from students, trainees and early career pharmacists to help inform future PDA activity and policy development.
What you’ll bring
- Current registration as a pharmacist with the GPhC or PSNI.
- Experience of pharmacy practice and a good understanding of the realities of the profession.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Experience of teaching, training, mentoring or supporting the development of others.
- Enthusiasm for helping students, trainees and early career pharmacists achieve their potential.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Confidence using Microsoft 365 applications and digital tools.

Desirable experience includes educational programme development, independent prescribing, professional leadership activities and the use of emerging technologies such as AI within education and professional practice.
