Risk Lawyer
We are working with a leading international law firm to hire a Risk Lawyer for their General Counsel team in London. In this role you will handle and resolve professional indemnity insurance matters, client complaints, and internal service reviews while upholding best practice standards across the business.
The firm is looking for a qualified solicitor with significant experience handling investigations, complaints, or claims within a contentious insurance or law firm compliance environment. Candidates must possess deep knowledge of the regulatory landscape, including Legal Ombudsman processes and professional indemnity insurer engagement, alongside proven drafting skills and meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate will combine a robust, agile approach with the strong interpersonal skills required to advise partners, influence senior stakeholders, and maintain composure under pressure.

Responsibilities
- Responding to and resolving client complaints in accordance with internal protocols and regulatory procedures.
- Assisting in the management and resolution of potential issues engaging the firm's professional indemnity insurance arrangements.
- Delivering proactive, commercial advice on legal service obligations, operational risks, and professional negligence procedures.
- Conducting internal investigations and service reviews alongside key stakeholders, liaising with the COLP as required.
- Developing and delivering training initiatives that promote best practice, service excellence, and risk awareness firmwide.
- Collaborating across the General Counsel function on ad-hoc departmental projects and risk management initiatives.
