Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA) Lead
The Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA) Lead will provide strategic leadership for the Professional Midwifery Advocacy service and patient experience across Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, providing governance and assurance for the A-EQUIP model in line with NHS England guidance.
- Lead a team of Professional Midwifery Advocates, promoting restorative practice, professional development, staff wellbeing, retention, and the delivery of safe, high-quality maternity care.
- Provide leadership for workforce culture, psychological safety, civility, and compassionate leadership initiatives, including the implementation and embedding of the Civility Toolkit for the Maternity and neonatal services.
- Lead the delivery of the Listening Service for women, birthing people, and families, providing expert support and advice to the senior leadership team in the management of complex debrief appointments following traumatic birth experiences, adverse outcomes, and complex care journeys.
- Develop, monitor, and evaluate the Listening Service framework, ensuring equitable access for all women, birthing people, and families.
- Work collaboratively with women, families, staff, and senior leaders to improve patient experience, staff experience, and service quality across maternity services.
- Manage midwifery and support staff and the clinical area as Midwife Manager on Call (MMOC), ensuring the safe and effective delivery of services.

The post holder will be employed by Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, based within the Maternity Department. This is a cross-site role.
