About The Role
These are exciting times at ARAG Law, where we are going through a period of sustained growth across our litigation teams. This is a great time to join a hard-working and friendly group of around 60 lawyers who together make up the Complex Litigation unit at ARAG Law. We are now seeking a Senior Associate who is keen to manage a varied caseload of mainly claimant based professional negligence matters across a range of professions (to include solicitors, barristers, surveyors and accountants), acting on behalf of individuals and business clients.
Why us?
ARAG Law has a unique and compelling business model which sets us apart from other mid-sized firms. The insurance arm of ARAG underwrites legal expenses insurance and has millions of customers across the UK. When customers face a legal problem, whether a contract, property, employment or personal injury dispute, their legal cover gives them access to a panel of skilled lawyers to help resolve those disputes. ARAG Law sits at the heart of that panel, and therefore benefits from a steady influx of cases every year from the insurance group.
Only a stone’s throw from Bristol Temple Meads station, we have newly refurbished and modern city centre offices. Our staff are at the heart of everything we do, and we support flexible working options, and are happy to discuss part-time hours for these opportunities.
In addition to a steady supply of high-quality litigation from the ARAG Insurance Group, we offer a highly competitive benefits package including a generous pension, group income and legal protection and a host of products aimed at wellbeing, including a Sports and Social club and discounted gym memberships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
