Professional Risks Lawyers – Associate to Partner

Manchester / Leeds | Multiple Hires | Salary depending on level & experience

This isn't your typical law firm opportunity. You won't find a culture built around internal politics, unnecessary hierarchy or the idea that working the most insane hours somehow makes you the best lawyer. Instead, you'll find high-quality work, plenty of it, and smart people who genuinely enjoy working with one another – within a collegiate environment where people collaborate and are recognised for the contribution they make.

We're supporting a progressive and growing law firm as they make a significant investment in their Professional Risks practice. The current brief is at Senior Associate level, but the firm is keen to speak much more broadly – from Associate and Senior Associate through to Legal Director and Partner – as part of the continued expansion of this core practice.

The opportunity

The team is already Tier 2 ranked in Legal 500, with an established flow of work and further opportunity to grow its London Market offering. The work is broad and includes:

  • Professional indemnity / professional liability
  • Property damage and liability claims
  • Insurance coverage advice and disputes
  • Management liability / D&O
  • Cyber and data risks
  • Complex disputes ranging through to multi-million-pound matters

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Clients and claims span construction professionals, specialist contractors, accountants, technology professionals, care practitioners and not-for-profit organisations.

We're particularly interested in lawyers with experience of professional indemnity or property damage liability claims from a defendant perspective, ideally alongside insurance coverage experience. London Market exposure would be particularly relevant.

As your seniority increases, so does the opportunity to develop client relationships, generate new work, mentor lawyers and play a meaningful role in the continued development of the practice.

Why consider it?

We've worked closely with the firm for some time and have successfully helped them appoint a number of lawyers and legal professionals. What has consistently stood out is the culture. There's high-quality work and a strong pipeline of instructions, but without some of the politics and unnecessary hierarchy associated with more traditional firms. People collaborate, share work and genuinely seem to enjoy working together. The business also benefits from the backing and resources of a substantial international group, while retaining the accessibility and entrepreneurial feel of a progressive law firm.
