Role Description
The Professional Services Network Engineer role at Xpand-Net is a remote, contract position focused on delivering expert network and security services for mission-critical environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Assessing customer infrastructures
- Troubleshooting complex network issues
- Providing technical support across clinical, service-provider, and enterprise traffic domains

The role involves:
- Designing and validating network security controls
- Contributing to migration and deployment plans
- Participating in proofs of concept and testing activities to ensure changes can be executed without disruption
The Network Engineer collaborates closely with client stakeholders and internal specialists to:
- Document solutions
- Implement automation where appropriate
- Help maintain secure and resilient operations over time
Qualifications
- Strong Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills for complex network environments
- Professional Services experience, including client-facing delivery and solution implementation
- Network Security and Cybersecurity skills, including secure design, policy implementation, and threat mitigation. F5 A10 Citrix experience will be required
- Relevant experience with routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and network monitoring tools
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is beneficial
- Background in mission-critical or regulated environments (healthcare, telecom, financial services) is a plus
- Industry certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent practical experience are advantageous
