Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) – Court of Protection | Part-Time

West Kent – around 45 minutes by train from London Bridge
21 hours per week | Hybrid working
Competitive salary, dependent on experience

We are partnered with a highly regarded UK law firm that is looking to appoint an experienced Professional Support Lawyer to join its established Court of Protection team. This is an award-winning team, nationally recognized as one of the largest and most experienced in the country.

This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist Court of Protection lawyer looking for a part-time role with the flexibility of hybrid working.

The role will involve:

  • Maintaining and developing precedents, templates, and best-practice resources
  • Keeping the team up to date with relevant case law, legislation, and legal developments
  • Providing technical guidance on the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and related Court of Protection matters
  • Developing policies, procedures, and the team’s CoP handbook
  • Supporting training and professional development across the team
  • Leading and supporting specific legal and operational projects
  • Assisting with risk, compliance, audits, and knowledge management
  • Supporting webinars, seminars, marketing, and Legal 500/Chambers submissions

About you:

  • 5+ PQE with proven experience specializing in Court of Protection work
  • Strong legal knowledge and the ability to provide clear, practical guidance
  • Experience in professional support, knowledge management, or legal projects would be advantageous
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, approachable style
