Professional Writer

Position: Generalist Writer

Type: Contract

Compensation: $40–$50/hour

Location: Remote

About the Opportunity

This opportunity is for experienced Generalist Writers with strong expertise in research, content writing, editing, communication, critical thinking, and adapting complex information for different audiences to contribute to advanced AI research and evaluation projects.

In this role, you'll apply your writing expertise to evaluate AI-generated content, written responses, research-based outputs, and reasoning. Your work will help improve the clarity, accuracy, coherence, creativity, and communication capabilities of next-generation AI systems.

No prior AI experience is required. Your writing skills, research ability, editorial judgment, and attention to detail are the primary qualifications for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate AI-generated written content and responses for clarity, accuracy, coherence, tone, and overall quality.
  • Write, edit, and refine content across a variety of topics, formats, and audiences.
  • Research unfamiliar subjects and synthesize information into clear, engaging, and well-structured content.
  • Identify factual inconsistencies, logical gaps, unclear language, grammatical errors, and weak reasoning.
  • Assess AI-generated outputs for relevance, completeness, readability, and adherence to instructions.
  • Apply strong editorial judgment to improve structure, flow, tone, and communication effectiveness.
  • Create clear reference responses, writing examples, and evaluation criteria for content assessment.
  • Provide structured feedback to improve AI writing quality, reasoning, and communication capabilities.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams while maintaining content quality, consistency, and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in English, Communications, Journalism, Literature, Humanities, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Professional or demonstrated experience in writing, editing, content creation, journalism, research, or communications.
  • Excellent written English skills, including strong grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style.
  • Ability to research and write confidently across multiple topics and subject areas.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and editorial judgment.
  • Ability to identify inconsistencies, logical errors, unclear writing, and gaps in information.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow detailed guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in content writing, copywriting, journalism, editing, technical writing, academic writing, or creative writing.
  • Experience reviewing or editing content for quality, accuracy, style, tone, and consistency.
  • Familiarity with SEO, digital content, publishing, content strategy, or editorial workflows.
  • Experience conducting online research, fact-checking, and information synthesis.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted writing, content evaluation, data annotation, or AI model evaluation.
  • Experience working across multiple industries, content formats, or subject domains.

Compensation

  • Competitive compensation of $40–$50/hour.
