We have a great opportunity for you – Program Director!

Careers at TCS: It means more

TCS is a purpose-led transformation company, built on belief. We do not just help businesses to transform through technology. We support them in making a meaningful difference to the people and communities they serve - our clients include some of the biggest brands in the UK and worldwide. For you, it means more to make an impact that matters, through challenging projects which demand ambitious innovation and thought leadership.

The Role

The senior leadership role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex, large-scale transformation programmes for TCS clients, with a particular focus on SAP S/4HANA and ERP-led business transformations.

The Program Director will lead multi-workstream programmes across all phases, establishing robust governance structures, shaping delivery strategies, and ensuring successful execution aligned to client business objectives and commercial parameters. The role oversees multiple transformational initiatives, including ERP implementations and business process improvements, while coordinating timelines, resources, budgets, and capacity planning.

Accountable for programme execution quality, the Program Director manages programme-level status, metrics, risks, scope, and value realisation. Operating one level below the Engagement Partner, the role provides day-to-day leadership to senior client stakeholders and cross-functional delivery teams, leveraging deep business and technical expertise to ensure stakeholder satisfaction and successful outcomes.

In addition to delivery leadership, the Program Director plays a key role in the growth of the TCS Consulting practice. This includes driving business development, shaping and contributing to proposals, producing thought leadership, and representing TCS at industry events, reinforcing TCS’s position as a trusted transformation partner with C-suite credibility. This role will require some technical understanding of S/4 HANA and its implementation on RISE.

Your responsibilities:

  • Programme Leadership: Own the successful delivery of large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformations, from mobilization through to go-live and post-implementation support.
  • Governance & Risk Management: Establish programme governance frameworks, chair steering committees, and ensure compliance with internal and client delivery assurance standards.
  • Client Advisory: Act as a strategic advisor to CIOs, CFOs, and senior business stakeholders on SAP-enabled transformation programmes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and sustain trusted relationships with C-suite stakeholders and programme sponsors.
  • People & Team Leadership: Lead and develop cross-functional delivery teams including business, functional, technical, and change management resources (onshore and offshore).
  • Commercial Management: Support the management of the programme P&L, contractual commitments, resource planning, and delivery forecasting.
  • Methodology and Delivery Assurance: Apply best-practice methodologies (e.g., Activate, Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and ensure effective DevOps or project-based release structures.
  • Partner Collaboration: Collaborate with client-side SIs, Business Integrators and third-party vendors.
  • Practice Development: Support business development activities, including pre-sales, proposal writing, and client presentations. Mentor future leaders within the ERP practice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
