We are looking for an Offender Behaviour Programme Facilitator to join our supportive interventions team. This is an opportunity to play a hands-on role in reducing reoffending by delivering accredited programmes that help prisoners understand their thinking and behaviours, develop healthier relationships and build the skills needed to live an offence-free future.
About the Role
As an Offender Behaviour Programme Facilitator, you will deliver structured interventions through group and one-to-one sessions, working directly with prisoners throughout their programme journey. You will complete assessments, encourage engagement, monitor progress and work closely with colleagues across sentence management and psychology. This is a non-operational, prisoner-facing role with no line-management responsibilities, with training, development and professional support provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accredited offending behaviour programmes through group and one-to-one sessions, following programme requirements while adapting delivery appropriately to support individual participant needs.
- Identify and engage suitable participants through screening, assessments and motivational interviewing, supporting individuals to remain engaged throughout their programme journey.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, sessions and participant progress, including post-session debriefs, objectives, reviews and communication with sentence management teams.
- Work collaboratively with Prison and Community Offender Managers, the Treatment Manager and Psychology Team, actively participating in supervision and quality assurance processes.
- Support the wider rehabilitative culture at HMP Millsike by delivering staff awareness sessions, undertaking professional development and contributing positively to continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring
Essential
- Current experience delivering accredited programmes within a community or custodial setting.
- Experience within Criminal Justice, Social Care or a secure environment, with an understanding of the social and interpersonal factors associated with offending behaviour.
- Understanding of psychological and/or criminological theory, group dynamics and techniques for motivating and engaging individuals.
- Experience of motivational interviewing, appropriately challenging behaviour and supporting others in their professional practice.
- Strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills, with intermediate IT capability including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and database systems.
Desirable
- Previous experience working directly with offenders within a prison or community setting.
- Experience delivering structured group-based or one-to-one interventions.
- Knowledge of sentence management, rehabilitation and reducing reoffending approaches.
- Experience supporting participants with complex needs or barriers to engagement.
- Previous exposure to accredited training or quality-assured programme delivery.
