We are currently recruiting a Program Finance Coordinator to join our Finance team.
This is a remote position open to candidates based in any Relief International country of operation, ideally between UK and Jordan time zones, with up to 20% international travel. The role sits within Relief International's global Finance function and provides strategic financial support across multiple country programmes and donor portfolios.

Our team works across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, delivering Health and Nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Education and Livelihoods programming that creates the foundation for community resilience. We do this by working with local actors to develop safe, inclusive and evidence-based programming that reaches those most in need.
About the Opportunity
The Program Finance Coordinator serves as a key finance business partner to Relief International's country programmes, providing strategic financial oversight and donor compliance support across the full programme and award lifecycle. Reporting to the Program Finance Director, the role works closely with Country Finance Managers, Program Desks, Awards Management, Partnerships and other support functions to ensure robust financial management of complex donor-funded portfolios.
This is a highly collaborative and influential position that combines programme finance, donor compliance, business partnering and financial risk management. You will play a critical role in proposal development, budgeting, grant management, portfolio monitoring and donor compliance, helping country teams make informed decisions while ensuring financial sustainability and strong stewardship of donor resources.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of donor-funded programmes and be comfortable providing financial leadership across proposal development, grant implementation, portfolio reviews, audits and close-outs.
Your Responsibilities
This role includes the following responsibilities.
- Act as the primary finance business partner to assigned Country Offices, providing strategic financial advice throughout the programme and award cycle.
- Lead financial review and development of proposal budgets, budget narratives, cost allocation methodologies and donor submissions, ensuring compliance, sustainability and full cost recovery.
- Provide strategic financial leadership during Go/No-Go discussions, assessing funding opportunities, financial risks, cost recovery and operational feasibility.
- Monitor portfolio financial performance through budget-versus-actual analysis, pipeline monitoring and financial forecasting, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions.
- Support Country Offices in developing multi-year budgets and funding forecasts, helping identify funding gaps and opportunities for portfolio growth.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations, organizational policies and financial procedures across grants, awards and partnerships.
- Participate in portfolio reviews, country programme discussions and award management processes, providing financial insights that support programme decision-making.
- Support audit preparation, risk mitigation activities, grant close-out processes and implementation of audit recommendations.
- Deliver training, mentoring and capacity strengthening support to country teams on donor compliance, financial management and grant budgeting.
About You
You will bring the following experience and skills.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
- Significant experience in programme finance, grant financial management and donor-funded awards within an INGO or non-profit environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in donor compliance, proposal budget development, award financial management, budget modifications, cost extensions, no-cost extensions and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of major institutional donor regulations and financial requirements.
- Experience supporting Country Finance teams and collaborating with programme, awards and partnerships colleagues to strengthen financial performance and compliance.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify risks and provide practical recommendations to improve portfolio performance.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial issues clearly to non-finance audiences.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management systems. Experience with Oracle NetSuite, donor financial reporting templates and grant monitoring systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Arabic and/or French would be an advantage.
