I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About the team
The External Supply Chain team protects Amazon's freight and parcel movements across Amazon Freight, Ship with Amazon, and WePay inbound shippers globally. These businesses serve a range of models (business to business, business to customer, and customer to customer) where volume moves through third-party carriers, shipper warehouses, terminals, and Amazon's own network with limited visibility. The team designs, pilots, and scales solutions (seals, supervised handoffs, IoT tracking, tiered shipper security frameworks) that close visibility and chain-of-custody gaps where Amazon has historically had the fewest controls. Success is measured in loss dollars reduced, claims prevented, Network Standards established, and shipper trust earned as a competitive differentiator.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience influencing multiple stakeholders and leading cross functional teams across geographies and business units
- Experience in security services, asset protection, loss prevention, risk management, inventory management, investigations, supply chain, auditing, compliance, or similar
- Relevant degree or degree equivalent in a security-related, business, or program management field
