Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is a premiere clinical and academic health system, providing expert pediatric care for infants, children, and teens with some of the most challenging medical problems. Ranked in multiple specialties by U.S. News & World Report, we provide access to innovative treatments and therapies. With more than half of the 259 beds in our teaching hospital devoted to intensive care level services, we are the regional pediatric referral center for Florida's west coast. Physicians and community hospitals count on us to care for critically ill patients and perform complex surgical procedures.
The Program Manager for Patient Safety and Quality
The Program Manager for Patient Safety and Quality will act as the HERO Administrator (safety event reporting system) and support a variety of safety and quality initiatives including supporting administration and action planning of patient safety surveys, follow up on action items for employee engagement surveys, supporting the RISE (Resilience In Stressful Events) program and tracking of health system safety metrics.
Position Summary
Accountable for day-to-day operations of the department unit through implementation of strategy, policy, direction, and action plans. The incumbent will manage the ongoing analysis, development, and implementation of methods and systems to maintain and improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of services and functions. Accountable for driving excellence throughout the assigned area.
Key Accountabilities
- Upholds and models mission, vision, values. Promotes integration across unit/divisions while ensuring employees understand the connection of their job.
- Assist with planning within assigned areas; Coordinates the ongoing activities to meet the established objectives within defined deadlines.
- Accountable for daily activities and work processes for self and others that result in quality outcomes and defined financial and operational objectives.
- Manages employees within the team and ensures all employees are properly trained and informed of procedures, policies, and processes, which result in high reliability, safety, and quality outcomes.
- Ensures service excellence expectations are understood and implemented by self and staff. Participates in service recovery as needed.
- Manages compliance on all mandatory, regulatory, and accrediting requirements as applicable.
- Identifies and monitors assigned divisional expenditures against budget and reports monthly variances.
- Participates in the development, rollout, and timely execution of the assigned Department strategic plan, including daily management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of projects relating directly to the strategic plan and other Institute/Department priorities.
- Strengthens internal and external stakeholder relationships to improve engagement across all tenants of the organizational mission.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; Master’s Degree preferred.
- 2 – 5 years’ program management work experience required, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing with all levels of management and employees throughout the organization.
- Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Lean Six Sigma training, Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) designations preferred.

Salary Range
Minimum $33.70/hour - Maximum $59.93/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
