Role Description

Role: Project Manager – Power Platform Transformation

Location: London, United Kingdom (UK)

Type of engagement: Fixed Term Contract / Contract Role (Inside IR35)

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a strategic transformation programme focused on migrating a business-critical Logistics solution from Smartsheet to the Microsoft Power Platform.

This is a high-profile delivery role responsible for driving the end-to-end execution of a complex programme spanning five business lines, two international sites, multiple technology teams, and external delivery partners. The successful candidate will act as the central point of accountability for project planning, governance, delivery oversight, stakeholder engagement, and executive reporting.

The project operates within a regulated environment and has a fixed business deadline, requiring a hands-on Project Manager who takes ownership, drives decisions, manages risk proactively, and ensures delivery milestones are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

As the Project Manager, you will:

  • Own the overall programme plan, scope, delivery schedule, and execution strategy.
  • Lead delivery across six key programme phases: Mobilisation, Design, MVP Build, Migration, Go-live.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including: Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Technical Leads, Offshore Development Teams, External Consulting Partners.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement across multiple business functions and locations.
  • Drive governance processes including: Risk management, Issues management, Dependency tracking, Scope control, Change Management.
  • Facilitate discovery workshops, design reviews, validation sessions, and user acceptance testing.
  • Lead executive communications, steering committee reporting, and leadership updates.
  • Monitor budget utilisation and resource allocation throughout the programme lifecycle.
  • Ensure all documentation, approvals, and sign-offs are completed within agreed timelines.
  • Coordinate migration, cutover planning, parallel-run activities, and post-go-live transition support.
  • Serve as the single source of truth for all programme-related status, decisions, deliverables, and milestones.

Key Deliverables

You will be responsible for producing and maintaining:

  • Integrated programme plan and delivery roadmap
  • Weekly project status reports
  • Executive and Steering Committee reporting packs
  • RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies)
  • Decision and assumption registers
  • Azure DevOps backlog, sprint, and release tracking
  • Discovery and design workshop outputs
  • Requirements and process-signoff documentation
  • Architecture Review Board submissions
  • Budget and resource consumption reports
  • UAT planning and coordination
  • Migration and cutover plans
  • Go-live readiness assessments
  • Transition-to-support documentation

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale technology transformation programmes.
  • Strong project leadership and accountability with the ability to drive outcomes and decisions.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex projects involving multiple workstreams, stakeholder groups, and third-party vendors.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leadership and executive audiences.
  • Strong governance, reporting, and programme controls experience.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate distributed teams across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Experience maintaining detailed project plans, RAID logs, decision registers, and status reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the confidence to challenge assumptions, address blockers, and escalate risks where required.
  • Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar business domains and become an effective delivery leader.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience delivering projects within regulated industries such as: Life Sciences, Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical.
  • Microsoft Power Platform delivery experience, including: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse.
  • Experience working with ERP-integrated business applications.
  • Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps for sprint, backlog, release, and delivery management.
  • Experience taking ownership of in-flight projects and managing vendor or partner handovers.
  • Knowledge of migration and parallel-run delivery approaches where legacy systems remain operational during transition.
