IAM Programme Manager - CONTRACT
£900 - £950 p/d OUTSIDE IR35
6 months initial
A global private markets business is looking for an experienced IAM / PAM Programme Manager to lead a genuinely greenfield identity programme. This is an initial six-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension, based in London with two days a week on site.
The organisation is around 7,000 people and the identity function is at an early stage of maturity. There is no roadmap, no established policies, and no agreed target state. SailPoint and Okta are already in the estate but neither has been implemented to anywhere near its potential, so part of the remit is helping the business get real value out of what it already owns. Running alongside this is a wider compliance programme, including a move toward SOC 2, which the identity workstreams feed directly into.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You would be working closely with a newly appointed senior security leader and, because the internal technical team is still building its own maturity, there is real scope to shape and inform the target state rather than simply deliver against someone else's plan. It is a business-facing role. You will spend as much time bringing stakeholders together, agreeing policy, and building consensus as you will tracking delivery, so this suits someone who can create structure where none currently exists and unblock things without waiting to be told how.
Key Skills Required
- Proven track record running IAM and/or PAM programmes end to end
- Experience taking an identity function from immature or greenfield to structured, including roadmap creation and policy and procedure development
- Comfortable defining target state and operating model in an environment with limited existing governance
- Strong stakeholder management at senior level, with the ability to work with a remote security lead
- Working knowledge of SailPoint, Okta, or comparable IGA and PAM tooling, with enough technical grounding to hold credibility with engineering teams
- Exposure to compliance and audit-driven change, with SOC 2 or ISO 27001 experience a distinct advantage
- Available at short notice and able to commit to two days a week on site in London
