Help us deliver the UK's largest bus decarbonisation programme
At First Bus, we're not just talking about sustainability, we're actively transforming public transport across the UK.
Our ambition is clear: a fully zero-emission bus fleet by 2035.
We're already well on the way, with around 1,500 electric buses in operation across the UK and one of the country's largest EV charging hubs. To achieve our goal, we're continuing to invest in zero-emission vehicles, charging infrastructure, depot transformations and new ways of working that will shape the future of public transport for decades to come. This is one of the most ambitious decarbonisation programmes in the industry, and we're proud to be leading the way.
We're looking for a Programme Coordinator
Join our Decarbonisation team and help drive our zero-emission journey. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with project administration or project coordination experience who is eager to learn, develop their programme management skills and contribute to a nationally significant transformation programme. If you're organised, proactive and enjoy working with a wide range of stakeholders, we'd love to hear from you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
