Role
Support the delivery of the British Council’s Arts programmes, helping bring creative projects and cultural partnerships to life through our Arts in Action and Creative Growth programmes. You will work closely with programme teams and partners to coordinate project delivery, manage financial and administrative processes, support reporting and data collection, and ensure activities are delivered effectively and in line with British Council policies.
Role Accountabilities
Managing Self and Others
- Holding vendors, suppliers and grantees accountable for delivering services and achieving agreed grant milestones, while maintaining a strong focus on project outcomes.
- Working independently to manage competing priorities and project deadlines, while actively mainstreaming EDI and anti-racist practices across programmes and ways of working.
Financial and Resource Management
- Managing project budgets, expenditure, forecasting and financial reporting, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with audit requirements and British Council policies.
- Building effective vendor relationships and ensuring timely payment processing in line with SAP Finance guidelines and established financial procedures.
Project Management
- Leading key programme processes including data management, monitoring, reporting, grants administration, procurement, compliance, records management and data collection activities.
- Coordinating programme events and training initiatives, while supporting diversity mainstreaming action plans and contributing to their successful implementation.

Relationship and Stakeholder Management
- Building and managing effective relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders to support successful programme delivery.
- Maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring high-quality service delivery and accountability against agreed commitments.
Qualifications
Education
- Degree and/or equivalent experience
Role Specific Knowledge and Experience
- Essential
- Experience of working in a supporting role on complex programmes or projects in the arts and/ or creative industries.
- Administrative and financial administration experience.
- Good understanding of basic concepts of monitoring and evaluation, and how they are central to good project management.

- Pay Band: 6 G
- Country/Location: United Kingdom
- Working Arrangement: Hybrid (please note you will be required to work from the office for 3 days per week)
- Contract Type: Indefinite Contract (Permanent)
- Contract Hours: Full time - 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Starting Annual Gross Salary: £28,072
