Help shape professional learning that transforms education systems and schools worldwide.
As our volunteer Programme Development Lead, you will guide and strengthen our Apto Model and course development and turn learning from educators and partners into practical, high-quality training.

The quality of our courses is central to Aprender’s mission. As Apto grows and reaches more educators, we need to ensure that every programme remains coherent, evidence-informed and responsive to the realities of the communities we serve.
Your expertise will help us establish a clearer and more consistent approach to programme development. By coordinating content production and continuous improvement, you will help our staff and volunteers use their time effectively while maintaining high standards across the Apto course portfolio.
Crucially, you will help us learn from the people closest to our work. Feedback from teachers, coaches, school leaders and partners must shape how our programmes evolve. You will help turn that field learning into practical improvements, ensuring our provision remains relevant, culturally responsive and genuinely useful.
Your contribution will strengthen our organisational capacity, give partners greater confidence in the quality of Apto and help us develop programmes that can be adapted and scaled responsibly. Ultimately, this will enable more teachers and school leaders to access effective professional development, strengthen their schools and improve opportunities for children in under-resourced communities.

What will you be doing?
We are looking for an experienced and collaborative education professional to help lead the development and continuous improvement of Apto—Aprender’s approach to strengthening teaching, school leadership and coaching in under-resourced communities.
Giving approximately two hours a week, you will
- Lead the development and refinement of Apto courses and professional-development programmes.
- Help ensure our content is practical, evidence-informed and relevant to educators working in varied cultural and educational contexts.
- Coordinate the production, review and quality assurance of course content and learning resources.
- Create greater consistency across our programmes while allowing appropriate adaptation for local languages, cultures and education systems.
- Gather learning and feedback from partners, coaches, school leaders and teachers, translating it into meaningful improvements.
- Help establish clear development priorities, standards and processes for new and existing courses.
- Work collaboratively with Aprender’s volunteers, trustees, programme colleagues and international partners.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, inclusion and cultural sensitivity throughout programme development.

You may bring experience in curriculum development, teacher professional development, instructional design, school improvement or education programme leadership. Experience in international development, low-resource settings or the charity sector would be valuable but is not essential.
We are looking for someone who combines educational expertise with humility and curiosity—someone who listens carefully, communicates clearly and enjoys turning ideas and evidence into learning that educators can use. You will be trusted to work independently while becoming part of a warm, committed and globally connected team.
