Job Description

Summary of the Role

The Capability Integration Governance role is based within the Client's Capability Integration team. Join a major infrastructure programme where you'll lead governance, reporting, and stakeholder coordination to support effective decision-making, programme control, and delivery readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage programme governance, reporting, and performance tracking
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and coordinate communication across programme teams
  • Oversee change control, decision logs, and governance processes
  • Maintain key programme documentation, including RACI matrices, process maps, lessons learned, and SOPs
  • Ensure effective oversight of Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies, and Opportunities (RAIDO)
  • Work with Planning and Risk Leads to ensure schedules, reporting, and programme data remain accurate and up to date
  • Analyse and present governance data, producing high-quality reports, dashboards, and board packs
  • Support project controls, document management, and secretariat activities, ensuring compliance with programme processes

Qualifications

Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a governance role
  • Working knowledge of governance, risk, scheduling, and process
  • Sound knowledge of project governance activities
  • Able to objectively analyse data and information to form a big-picture view
  • Process detailed information to identify relevant key points to brief seniors
  • Organisational and leadership skills
  • Working experience of project control activities for infrastructure works
  • Hands on experience of ensuring stakeholder engagement in project management
  • Good IT skills including competent user of MS 365 appliances, Power BI, and JIRA
  • Experience of working as part of a collaborative environment

Desirable:

  • In-depth knowledge of the Government project delivery framework
  • Ability to communicate effectively at executive level
  • Ability to be agile to react and reprioritise to changes in the Defence environment
  • Experience of managing stakeholders and delivery in complex live operational environment

Qualifications & Training

Suitability:

  • Suitable for an individual with working experience in a programme governance role
  • Ideally have experience in a government project delivery environment, though this is not essential.

Qualifications and professional memberships that will be considered:

  • APM Chartered Project Professional
  • APMG International Project Planning and Control Practitioner
  • PRINCE 2 Practitioner
  • Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner
  • PMI Project Management Professional
  • Membership of Relevant professional body

Additional Information

  • Staff or Umbrella contractor role
  • SC Clearance required to start
  • This role is primarily based at the Client Site
  • There is a requirement to be onsite to facilitate workshops, routine meetings, and site visits and to engage with the wider Client team, this currently is a minimum of 2 days per week and maximum 4 days per week but could require more or less at specific times of the programme and should be flexible to facilitate this business need in agreement with customer Line Manager.
  • There is likely to be occasional travel to Glasgow.
