About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Programme Lead to take ownership of the coordination, direction and delivery of critical, large-scale business-wide programmes. This is a high-profile role that sits at the heart of strategic delivery, working with Executive leaders, senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure complex programmes are governed effectively and deliver meaningful business outcomes.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner across multiple workstreams, providing leadership, challenge and coordination to drive progress, manage interdependencies and ensure Northern Powergrid delivers against its strategic commitments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys turning strategy into action and can bring people together to achieve shared goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively manage large-scale business programmes and provide direction-setting and orchestration across all responsible workstreams.
- Manage and coordinate internal and external stakeholders through robust programme reporting and governance.
- Have oversight of programme interdependencies to ensure alignment and consistency across project workstreams.
- Monitor delivery against plans, providing scrutiny and assurance to support successful outcomes.
- Ensure guidance, resources and working practices enable efficient and high-quality delivery.
- Uphold accountability frameworks, working closely with Executive leaders and workstream leads to drive progress and resolve issues.
- Coordinate Executive engagement to ensure senior time is focused on key priorities and strategic decisions.
- Maintain effective programme controls, standards and communications across all workstreams.

Skills and Key Competencies
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop strong partnerships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt programme plans in response to changing regulatory, industry and business requirements.
- Strong knowledge of programme management principles, governance frameworks and reporting processes.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Passionate about the energy sector and the role it plays in delivering a sustainable future.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Experience managing complex programmes
- The ability to proactively prioritise, plan and deliver outputs.
- Advanced Excel and MS Office Skills, with the ability to analyse data, create reports, and present insights effectively
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- An understanding of UK energy regulation, price reviews and regulatory frameworks in the energy sector.
- Experience of preparing or evaluating business plans of regulated companies.
- Qualified to degree level (or equivalent).
- Qualified to project manager (e.g. PMQ, PRINCE2 7).
- Previous experience working with or alongside a Distribution Network Operator.
