The successful candidate will relocate from the UK and work on-site as part of the EmpowerEdu academic leadership team, providing academic leadership across the Entrepreneurship & Innovation and Cyber Security & AI programmes.
The Programme Leader is central to the integrity, delivery, evaluation and development of both programmes, ensuring alignment with EmpowerEdu’s strategic plan, core values, policies and regulations, and with the requirements of external agencies, partner universities and discipline-specific bodies. Working closely with module leaders, academics, students and external stakeholders, the postholder safeguards the quality of learning, teaching and assessment, leads curriculum development and review, and ensures the programmes deliver a stimulating student experience and withstand internal and external scrutiny. The detailed duties are set out under Key Responsibilities below.
The postholder should be available during busy periods and weekends as needed, particularly during intake times; annual leave is generally not permitted during these periods, and some restrictions apply at other peak times as per business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic leadership for the UG Level 4 Entrepreneurship & Innovation and Cyber Security & AI programmes, in line with EmpowerEdu’s strategic plan, core values, strategic priorities, policies and regulations, and the requirements of UK external agencies (e.g. QAA, OfS), Australian external agencies (e.g. TEQSA), partner universities and discipline-specific bodies.
- Maintain good collaboration with partner universities and provide leadership, direction and communication to module leaders, ensuring the quality of learning, teaching and assessment within modules provides a stimulating learning experience for students.
- Develop and update key documents, such as timetables and programme handbooks, that support and clarify programme structures for students.
- Work with module leaders and academics to ensure a consistent, coherent and correctly configured Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) presence for all modules, set up and maintained in accordance with the relevant principles and regulations, with an accurate programme and assessment landscape.
- Ensure the effective coordination and coherence of programme delivery, assessment processes, student feedback practices and academic operations, collaborating with students, staff from within and beyond the organisation, and external stakeholders.
- Prepare for, coordinate and manage induction activities for the programmes.
- Engage and support students with academic processes such as mitigating circumstances applications, suspension of studies and academic appeals.
- Provide information to guide students’ programme route choices, including option and module choices and allocation to modules, where appropriate.
- Use a range of evidence and feedback — including student surveys, to which the postholder supports engagement and responds — to drive continuous improvement in programme delivery, student engagement and the overall student experience.
- Communicate with and respond to partner, moderator and external examiner issues and reports, and implement required programme enhancements.
- Take a proactive role in monitoring academic quality and programme KPIs, complete routine monitoring through the required annual returns, and assume accountability for programme performance in internal and external audits.
- Represent the organisation at partners’ examination and progression boards.
- Attend and chair relevant committees and report regularly to the relevant board.
- Provide academic leadership and support to colleagues within the programme team, line-managing a team of programme coordinators, student success officers and academics.
- Ensure the smooth running of academic operations for the relevant university partner, contributing to programme administration, quality assurance processes, reporting requirements and the effective management of programme documentation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
