The Opportunity

ICMP is seeking a dynamic and experienced Programme Leader to lead our Post-Graduate Portfolio of Music Business and Event Management & Experience Design. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of music business education by overseeing a diverse programme portfolio that puts the ever-changing music ecosystem at its heart.

As Programme Leader, you will provide strategic and academic leadership, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning, and student experience. You will work closely with the academic team to drive innovation and excellence across curriculum development, programme delivery, and student engagement, with particular emphasis on developing students’ critical thinking, independent research capability, and ability to synthesise complex industry knowledge.

About You

You are a passionate and proven academic leader with a strong background in music business and event management. You bring:

  • Substantial experience in post-graduate teaching and academic leadership at Level 7, including designing assessments that develop critical analysis and independent enquiry
  • A track record of leading teams, enhancing the student experience, and managing academic programmes
  • Experience supervising or supporting Master’s-level research (dissertations, capstone projects, or applied research assignments), guiding students in research design, methodology, and critical evaluation of sources
  • A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with awareness of inclusive pedagogies and current debates such as decolonising the curriculum
  • The ability to motivate and support staff, foster collaboration, and align academic vision with strategic objectives
  • A demonstrable research profile or industry practice - evidenced through publications, applied research, or critically reflective industry work - that models the research-informed thinking students are expected to develop
