Job description
Aim of the role:
The Redcentric Delivery team is responsible for the delivery of projects and programmes of work to a variety of commercial and public sector customers, adhering to project management best practice, frameworks, and processes.
This role will lead one of our dedicated project teams who are responsible for the delivery of new services to new and existing customers. They will oversee Projects and Programmes of work within the Cloud portfolio of services to ensure efficient and successful project delivery. They will work closely with Programme and Delivery Managers in other business areas, e.g. Connectivity and Communications, to ensure consistency where deliveries span across functional teams.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for their team’s delivery of projects from Initiation through to billing and closure, ensuring smooth transition of services into support where applicable. This role also supports the bid teams, Account teams and Presales/Solutions both in governing responses and defining overall project governance approaches, specific solutions content, and project definition. The role will also involve managing projects alongside overseeing the work of the other project managers in the team.
Key responsibilities:
- Successful project and programme delivery
- Accountable for the successful delivery of Projects and Programmes – including tracking progress, resources, costs, forecasting, risk management, senior stakeholder management, and any other key components
- Scope definition and management to ensure our project deliverables are clearly understood by all stakeholders to maximise the successfulness of the project
- Escalation management to ensure all escalations are dealt with effectively and efficiently so that our customers are provided the best possible experience and improvements are recognised and implemented where required
- Commercial delivery of high complexity/high-value projects and programmes of work autonomously within scope, schedule, budget, and quality parameters
- Lead and deliver individual projects via various methodologies, e.g. AGILE / SCRUM, Waterfall, Hybrid according to the inherited requirements of the Project Manager role
- Contribute to and deliver relevant reporting across the Delivery and Cloud Services Group functions to internal and external parties
- Effective portfolio-level management of risk, dependencies and constraints ensuring that these are visible to appropriate stakeholders, escalated and reviewed to identify lessons and improvements for future project engagements
- Ensure accurate and effective programme documentation and reporting
- Develop and promote Redcentric project and programme management standards
- Ensure all key stakeholders remain well informed and that reporting is accurate and transparent so that the business and the customer can be confident of the project/programme health status

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills, attributes, and experience:
- Pro-active, detail-oriented, efficient, and committed to delivering high-quality work
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at all levels
- Confidence in leading project meetings and presentations, with the ability to present complex ideas to a non-technical audience, translating ideas and solutions to clear tasks and models
- Experience and knowledge across various delivery and management methodologies
- Experience of managing multiple high complexity/value projects simultaneously within shared service environments
- Experience in line managing a team to include performance management, mentoring and coaching skills to achieve the best results from direct reports and project teams
- Strong people skills, self-awareness, and empathy in understanding the differing perspectives of colleagues, customers, and others with an ability to adjust behaviours and approach accordingly
- Evidence of pro-active approaches in evolving process improvements
- Experience in working across the full customer engagement lifecycle
- Proven experience of managing high value (TCV >£1M) systems integration and implementation projects and programmes based on public/private Cloud technologies and associated services e.g. Networking
- Demonstrable experience of successful project transition into operational service
- Pragmatism, drive, and determination to resolve problems efficiently with the best win-win solution
- Professional, positive, confident, and approachable
- Highly self-motivated with a willingness to self-improve and respond positively to feedback
- Ability to perform under pressure within a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks accordingly
- Highly proficient in Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint, and competent in other Office 365 applications
- Familiarity with CRM/ERP tools such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 and with collaboration software such as Jira and Confluence
- Proficient with Microsoft Project or something similar
- Experience of managing customer and supplier relationships and issues
- Familiarity with project delivery and PMO operations within a similar MSP organisation
- Knowledge and experience in working in a DevOps/SRE environment
- Experience of managing software development projects and projects involving infrastructure as code (IaC)
- Experience of managing cloud-based projects and ideally Azure, use of Azure DevOps
- Knowledge and experience of Software development lifecycle and delivery of application/development projects
- Knowledge and experience of secure development practices and standards – security by design

- Experience in industries such as transport (airports), and health / health informatics
- Appropriate professional qualification such as APM Professional Qualification (PPQ) or Chartered Project Professional (ChPP).
This role would suit an individual who can evidence working as a Programme Manager or Senior Project Manager or equivalent role within a similar environment for 5+ years.
On Site Attendance
This is a Hybrid role, and the candidate must be able to attend our Harrogate or York office 2 days per week. There is likely to be occasional travel to our other UK office locations as well as to customer sites across the UK
